Alena was born on July 26, 1990, in Brest. She graduated from local school No. 9, gymnasium No. 1, and the regional Lyceum named after Masherau. She received her higher education at the Belarusian Trade and Economic University of Consumer Cooperation, specializing in 'information and computing systems,' which she completed in 2014.

Alena was assigned as a system administrator to the Drybin District Consumer Society, where she worked from 2014 to 2016. Later, she returned to Brest and transitioned to the IT sector: she worked for almost four years as a QA engineer at Tectus Media. For the last five years, Alena worked remotely at Kernelics as a QA Specialist.

She is interested in rock music, particularly the work of the band Neverlove, about which she wrote a lot. Alena especially loves cats: she rescued them and regularly shared pictures of cats. Alena also knits toys for herself and friends.

Kulikova disappeared in June 2025 and only returned online at the end of December 2025. It is likely that she was held in a pre-trial detention center until the trial.

Alena Kulikova was sentenced in the Brest Regional Court. She was charged under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code — 'facilitating extremist activities'.

The girl was sentenced to 'restricted freedom', but the exact verdict is unknown. It is likely that the persecution is related to the Hayun case.
