At the Medininkai border crossing point, during the inspection of a bus that arrived from Belarus, a large volume of long-withdrawn Soviet-era cash was found in the luggage of one of the passengers. Naturally, they feature symbols of the hammer and sickle, a red five-pointed star, and other attributes of the USSR, which are prohibited in modern Lithuania.

According to Lithuanian law, the distribution, use, or public display of symbols of Nazi Germany, the USSR, or the Lithuanian SSR is prohibited. This applies to symbols that can be used to promote the ideology of totalitarian regimes, aggression, or crimes against humanity. Such items cannot be declared or imported into the country.
