The works will be carried out within the framework of the state program "Roads of Belarus", designed until 2030. About 19 billion rubles are allocated for its implementation. The program includes the repair and reconstruction of 25 thousand kilometers of highways — which is approximately one and a half times more than was done in the previous five-year period.
According to Sergei Levonchik, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Highways of the Ministry of Transport, such a program should become a good basis for modernizing the country's road network.
Among the major projects are the reconstruction of exits from Minsk within the second ring road, as well as the continuation of the reconstruction of the M3 highway, which connects the capital with Vitebsk.
In total, there are more than 5 thousand bridges and overpasses in Belarus: about 2.3 thousand are on republican roads, almost 3 thousand are on local roads. Approximately 500 of them are planned to be renovated in the coming years.
In addition, preparations are currently underway in the country to get roads ready for the warm season: marking is being applied and surface defects are being eliminated.
