The US temporarily removed sales of Russian oil and petroleum products transported by tankers from sanctions.

On Thursday, the US issued a new general license related to Russia, allowing the sale of Russian crude oil and petroleum products loaded onto vessels until April 11, Reuters reported, citing the US Treasury Department.

Previously, US President Donald Trump, without naming countries, said that sanctions on oil sales could be temporarily lifted due to the war in the Middle East. The US and Israel's war with Iran led to a de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world's extracted oil was supplied, and to a sharp rise in oil prices.
