Durov called WhatsApp encryption "the biggest user deception in history"
According to the founder of Telegram, Meta is misleading billions of users because it allegedly "reads users' messages and transfers them to third parties."
"Telegram has never done this — and never will," Durov wrote in his English-language Telegram channel.
He added a screenshot of news about a class-action lawsuit filed against Meta. The plaintiffs claim that company employees have direct access to users' private messages.
According to their version, a backdoor (an intentional vulnerability in the code for hidden access) is used for this, which Meta does not disclose, although it publicly declares reliable data protection.
