Ukrainian soldiers rescued five kittens from advanced positions near Mala Tokmachka. It was impossible to reach them by land, so on June 8, fighters of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade evacuated the animals using a heavy Vampire drone, writes BILD.

The kittens were placed in a bag and attached under the drone. They then flew about 12 kilometers from the frontline to a safe place.

According to the military, it was dangerous for the animals to remain near the positions, and furthermore, they could accidentally reveal the location of Ukrainian defenders.

Due to the war in Ukraine, thousands of domestic animals have been left without owners. Ukrainians are creating shelters and volunteer networks, and the military often takes homeless animals directly from the front.

According to the UAnimals organization, more than 10,000 animals have been evacuated since the start of the full-scale war.
