Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yury Seliverstov plans to visit Crimea, which was annexed by Russia. This was reported in early April by a representative of the peninsula's occupation authorities, Andrei Lapatsky, writes "Pozirk".

According to Andrei Lapatsky, preparations for the visit are currently underway, but specific dates have not yet been named. He noted that the ambassador's task is to develop cooperation not only between states, but also between regions.

Lapatsky also emphasized that cooperation between Belarus and Crimea, he claimed, brings not only material benefits, but also strengthens "fraternal relations."

Lapatsky himself, who hails from Sevastopol, became a representative of Crimea in Belarus in 2022 and founded the cultural organization "Crimean Community". In addition, in 2025, events dedicated to Crimea were held in Belarus, with the participation of representatives of the authorities and business of this occupied territory.

Earlier, Alexander Lukashenka stated that he considers Crimea Russian both factually and legally after the events of 2014. The Belarusian authorities also supported Russia's actions in Ukraine in 2022 and continue cooperation with the authorities in the occupied territories.

Crimea and Sevastopol were incorporated into Russia in 2014 after a referendum held under the control of Russian troops. However, most countries in the world did not recognize this move. In international documents, including the UN, these territories are considered part of Ukraine, which is under temporary occupation.
