Belarus to open embassy in Myanmar

The diplomatic mission is planned to open in the capital of Myanmar — Naypyidaw — by November 1, 2026. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin on July 3.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Myanmar were established on September 22, 1999.

Myanmar is located in Southeast Asia and borders India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, and Thailand. According to UN estimates, the country's population is about 55 million people.

Just yesterday, July 2, Aliaksandr Lukashenka visited this country, ruled by one of the most brutal and ruthless authoritarian regimes in Asia, for an almost four-hour visit.
