On Sunday, thousands of people gathered in Brasília in the rain to support former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who last year was sentenced to 27 years in prison for leading a failed coup attempt after his defeat in the presidential elections.
Videos published online show crowds of people with bright umbrellas and plastic ponchos, startled by a sudden flash and thunderclaps.
After the lightning struck several people, ambulances and fire trucks quickly arrived at the scene.
According to the fire department, 89 people were injured.
