Privacy Policy (as of 01.01.2025)

General provisions

This Privacy Policy describes what personal data we collect, how and for what purposes we process it, and on what legal grounds the processing is carried out.

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

This Policy applies to all users of the nashaniva.com website. When processing personal data, we are guided by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the current legislation of the European Union.

The personal data controller is:

Nasha Niva Fund, VšĮ

Address: Liejyklos g. 3, LT-01120, Vilnius, Lithuania

Email: [email protected]

2. What data we process

2.1. Automatically collected data

  • IP address;
  • device and browser information;
  • data on interaction with the website and viewed pages;
  • cookies and similar technologies.

2.2. Data when interacting with the website

2.3. Special categories of data

We do not purposefully collect special categories of data (Art. 9 GDPR — including information about political views). We process data from comments you post on the basis of Art. 9(2)(e) GDPR — data manifestly made public by the data subject. We encourage users not to leave information in public comments that could lead to your identification or put you at risk. We ourselves try to remove such information during comment moderation, even if the user carelessly posted it. Comment moderation rules are available next to the comment posting form.

3. Purposes of data processing

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • ensuring the operation and security of the website;
  • providing website content and functionality;
  • collecting traffic statistics;
  • improving user experience;
  • preventing abuse and protecting against attacks;
  • displaying and measuring advertising effectiveness;
  • administering comments and feedback.

4. Principles of processing

We guarantee that personal data is processed in accordance with applicable law, in particular:

  • in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, and transparency;
  • only to the extent necessary to achieve the stated purposes;
  • only for the legitimate purposes we have indicated, without using them in any other way incompatible with these purposes;
  • only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes (or within the terms provided by law);
  • ensuring an adequate level of security.

Automated decision-making and profiling. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal effects or significantly affect user rights. Automated processes are used only for traffic analytics, ensuring security, website operation, and preventing abuse.

5. Legal bases for processing

We process personal data on the following grounds:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent: optional cookies, analytics (Google Analytics), advertising services (Google), social media page statistics.
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — fulfillment of user request: processing of inquiries, messages via forms, comments.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest: ensuring website security, preventing abuse and attacks, basic server logs for security and diagnostics. These legitimate interests consist in protecting infrastructure and users from unauthorized access and abuse.
  • Art. 9(2)(e) GDPR: processing of special categories of data manifestly made public by the data subject (see point 2.3).

Consent can be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use several categories of cookies:

  • technically necessary — for basic website operation (do not require consent);
  • analytical — for traffic statistics (Google Analytics; require consent);
  • advertising — for displaying and measuring ads (Google; require consent)
  • other (see Cookie Policy).

Optional (analytical and advertising) cookies are set only after obtaining your consent via the Consent Management Platform (CMP) banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time.

The retention period of cookies depends on their type, purpose, and service provider. A detailed description of cookies and their retention periods is provided in the Cookie Policy.

Web analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregated website traffic and behavior statistics. Google Analytics is collected only after obtaining your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). GA4 does not record or store full IP addresses of users.

With regard to analytical data, Google acts as our processor on the basis of a data processing agreement; for certain of its own purposes, Google may act as an independent controller in accordance with its terms. Additional information about Google's data processing and ways to opt out: policies.google.com/privacy.
