Belarusian man, tried for rehabilitation of Nazism, released in courtroom
The Minsk City Court considered the case of a 21-year-old Minsk resident, who was accused of rehabilitating Nazism (Part 1, Article 130-1 of the Criminal Code) through comments on social networks, reports the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the prosecutor's office, the Belarusian posted more than 40 messages on the social network "VKontakte", where he justified Nazi crimes and disputed the mass extermination of civilians in the village of Khatyn by SS troops under the command of Oskar Dirlewanger on March 22, 1943. In addition, he allegedly added photos of Hitler, Himmler, and Nazi symbols to the messages.
In court, the Minsk resident pleaded guilty in full and expressed remorse. He was sentenced to one year and five months in a general regime penal colony. However, the time he spent in custody during the investigation and trial was already taken into account in the sentence, so he was released immediately after the verdict was pronounced.
