Tsikhanouskaya on the 15th anniversary of the Minsk metro tragedy: Today is a day of remembrance and pain, which has lived in our hearts for 15 years
The democratic leader published an address on the occasion of the anniversary of the explosion in the Minsk metro, which occurred on April 11, 2011.

«We remember those who died in Minsk 15 years ago. 15 people. Ordinary people who were just going home, hurrying to their loved ones, living ordinary lives, making plans. And whose lives were brutally cut short in an instant. More than 400 were injured. No words can convey the horror experienced by hundreds of families and all of Belarus,» she wrote.
«This day is a personal pain for many Belarusians. A day of losing loved ones, a day of worry for the injured, a day of unity to help the victims. Do you remember how people gave lifts to the injured, provided medical assistance, searched for relatives in hospitals? Even in the most difficult moments, Belarusians did not stand aside — they stuck together and helped each other.
This is a memory that stays with us. But memory is also responsibility. Responsibility towards those who are no longer with us, and towards those who live today. And therefore, the truth about this tragedy also matters. If questions remain in society years later, the answer can only be provided by a full, independent, and transparent investigation that people can trust. The safety of people is the foundation upon which any society rests», said Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
