A Belarusian woman yearned to work abroad, but she chose the wrong path
A 62-year-old resident of Brest contacted the Maskouski District Police Department, reporting that she had become a victim of fraud. She lost over 20,000 rubles trying to find work abroad.

The woman found an advertisement for work abroad online and contacted its author. Later, she was informed that to travel and get employed, it was necessary to register an electronic wallet and top it up, allegedly to confirm solvency.
The Brest resident followed all instructions and transferred over 20,000 rubles to the electronic account. When, a few days later, she contacted customer support to check the money's availability, she found out that the funds had disappeared from the account.
The police are now conducting an investigation and identifying individuals who may be involved in the crime.
Law enforcement reminds that fraudsters, when people are seeking employment, often demand payment for document processing, visas, training, workwear, or other services. However, as a result, people may neither get the job nor their money back. It is strongly recommended to verify employers and not to provide personal, banking data, or passwords to unknown individuals.
