In Rogachev, a new military monument with an already damaged pedestal was unveiled
In Rogachev, near Zamkovaya Gora (Castle Hill), a new memorial sign dedicated to the 63rd Rifle Corps of the Red Army, which participated in battles on the Dnieper frontier in 1941, was unveiled. However, already during the solemn ceremony, it became clear that the monument's pedestal had begun to crumble, writes BG.Media.

According to eyewitnesses, the foundation, laid with curb stones, was improperly secured. As a result, individual elements of the structure began to collapse almost immediately after the installation of the memorial sign. The monument itself is a large boulder with a plastic information plaque attached to it.
The opening of the monument was announced by the pro-government organization "Patriots of Belarus", the Rogachev District Executive Committee, and district state media. The event was timed to coincide with the events of the summer of 1941. The opening program included a rally near the location of the headquarters of the 63rd Rifle Corps under the command of Lieutenant General Leonid Petrovsky, the unveiling of a memorial sign to the corps, and another memorial sign to Petrovsky himself.
In addition, a car rally titled "Along the Commander's Roads: From 1941 to the Future" took place. Its route passed through Rogachev, Luchyn, Lebyadzёuka, Zhlobin, Staraya Rudnya, and concluded again in Rogachev.
After the video of the unveiling appeared on TikTok, many users focused not on the event itself, but on the poor quality of the work performed. Comments noted that the pedestal had begun to crumble even before the ceremony concluded. Some users expressed the opinion that instead of constructing such a monument, the funds could have been directed towards assisting veterans, former prisoners, housing repairs, or providing people with firewood.

Others wondered how much budget funding was spent on the creation of the memorial sign. However, at the time of publication, local authorities and state media had not disclosed the cost of the project.
Official structures have also not yet explained why the pedestal began to crumble immediately after installation, and whether correction of the identified defects is planned.
