For work in Orsha forestry, schoolchildren were paid 100 rubles instead of the promised thousand — parents and children are outraged

Orsha forestry responded to the claims.

One of the schoolchildren complained on Threads about the injustice he encountered as a result of cooperation with the Orsha forestry. According to him, when he was employed at the enterprise, he was promised "about a thousand rubles", but after almost a month of hard work, he received only 119.

"This is a slap in the face to teenagers who wanted to earn money honestly in the summer," the schoolboy complained. Parents of other students also complained about similar injustice online. However, the forestry believes that everything was in accordance with the contract.

The guy who started the discussion about working in the Orsha forestry has already deleted his post. In it, he said that the working conditions for registered eighth and ninth graders were "hellish".

Schoolchildren were entrusted with weeding spruces, and according to the boy, they were "heavily overgrown with weeds". Additionally, the work fell during a strong heatwave, but the workers "were given miserably little water".

Another mother of a schoolgirl said on social media that she personally attended a meeting at the forestry, where children were promised salaries of one thousand rubles.

"Parents paid for meals, registered a card for 20 rubles, to which the salary was supposed to be transferred. Already in the first days of work, many schoolchildren refused [to continue] because it was difficult. Only the most persistent remained. On the second week, these children heard that they would receive no more than 150 rubles. We thought it was just talk. But when it came time for payment, everyone was in shock - the maximum payment was 139 rubles. My daughter received 79. Of course, this is unfair!"

It should be noted that, according to Belarusian legislation, the remuneration of minors on a reduced schedule must be carried out at the same rates as for employees of corresponding categories working a full day.

The press service of the Ministry of Forestry immediately drew attention to the situation, promising to investigate.

According to Nasha Niva, control bodies from the Vitebsk State Production Forestry Association visited the Orsha forestry — officials found no unfairness in the calculations.

According to Yury Motsin, the ideologist of the Orsha forestry, whom a Nasha Niva journalist reached as a private individual, "all agreements were read and signed."

"Provided that the norm — [weeding] 900 square meters — was met, they would have received 348 rubles, but they did not meet it. The children worked only three hours a day. I understand that not everyone can handle such work and that more is desired.

But we are a state budget organization; we cannot take money out of thin air — among other things, the State Control inspects us afterwards. Moreover, young people from BRSM have been working with us for years — they work seven hours, and some of them exceed the norm. Of course, in such a case, they receive almost a thousand rubles in hand."

The ideologist also noted that after such "headaches," the district executive committee doubts whether they will want to continue cooperating with schoolchildren.
