Bee swarms fly directly into the hives of the beekeeper from Smolevichi district
Ivan Protka, a resident of the agro-town Drachkava, told smolevichi-24.by that he never buys bees, but catches them himself. And this year, our hero said, he also got new workers. What's more, surprisingly, some fly into his hives themselves.
"This winter was frosty and prolonged, spring came late, a lot of snow had drifted," says Ivan. "The bees didn't overwinter very well. I didn't make big plans to replenish the apiary. I have traps, but I don't set them myself anymore."
However, the beekeeper has assistants.
"This year, my relative set the traps. Eight swarms settled in 6 traps. And a few more flew directly into the hives," the beekeeper continues his story.
This happened in Ivan's absence.
"I arrive, look, and there's a big swarm sitting on my pine tree. I started to observe. And what did the bees do? They entered an already occupied hive! Honestly, I was worried, I thought they would kill the queen: a working family lived there. But everything went peacefully. I resettled them into a separate hive, and they thanked me with a rich honey harvest."
