Latushka to transfer information about Melnikova to Polish prosecutor's office

The head of the NAU, Pavel Latushka, will report new information about the former speaker of the Coordination Council, Anzhalika Melnikova, to the National Public Prosecutor's Office of Poland. He announced this in a conversation with "Belsat".

Yesterday it became known that Melnikova, with her two children, lives in Minsk in an apartment on Pyatra Mstsislaŭtsa street, and also that in 2022 she came from Poland to Belarus, while her husband returned to Poland.

Pavel Latushka, in response to Belsat's question about whether his assessment of Anzhalika Melnikova's story changed with the new information, noted that the information presented by the "Cyberpartisans" initiative is important, but it does not answer a number of crucial questions: when Anzhalika Melnikova began cooperating with the regime's special services, whether it was under duress, blackmail, or voluntary cooperation, and under what circumstances it happened.

In his opinion, "Cyberpartisans" and the owners of the Białoruś Liberty fund, from which Melnikova withdrew money, now have grounds to sue her in a Polish court.

"I believe that this information will also be important for the Polish authorities, as Anzhalika Melnikova is also a citizen of Poland. In turn, as a petitioner regarding the disappearance of Anzhalika Melnikova, I will also send this article [by "Cyberpartisans" about Melnikova living in Belarus and having a cover passport] to the National Public Prosecutor's Office of Poland, the department in Łódź, which is investigating the disappearance of Anzhalika Melnikova," Pavel Latushka noted.

From a security perspective, cooperation with special services, as indicated by the presence of a passport in the name of Angelina Radzivonava, will not greatly affect the members of the Coordination Council, the interlocutor believes.

"When we talk about the work of the Coordination Council, we can repeat once again that the Coordination Council is a public, absolutely open organization, and all delegates are known," he said.

However, Melnikova also worked in the NAU, where part of the team is anonymous.

"Of course, a number of people in our team are non-public, but we realized: if Anzhalika Melnikova came under the control of the special services, then this information has long been at their disposal. These are the risks of our work. And in our assessments, let's proceed primarily from the fact that an open war, declared by the system of special services, is being waged against us. Not by one, but by all special services of Lukashenka's regime. And this is the root cause of such situations," Pavel Latushka added.

Former speaker of the Coordination Council Anzhalika Melnikova disappeared in March 2025.

She was last seen in Sri Lanka, where at the same time Aliaksei Labeyeu, a 32-year-old man with whom Melnikova had a relationship and who, as journalists found out, works in the Military Counterintelligence Department of the KGB, also arrived.

After her disappearance, a criminal case was opened in Poland, but what happened to Anzhalika remains unclear to this day.

A year later, her photos from a Minsk gym appeared on social networks, and her father admitted to "Nasha Niva" that she had been in Belarus "for quite some time." Others saw her in "Dana Mall." "Zerkalo" found out that after her disappearance, Melnikova acquired two apartments in Minsk. The arrest on her third apartment was lifted, and property division with her ex-husband was finalized.
