At least that's how he explained his behavior to the Austrian police.

A 36-year-old Belarusian was driving in Austria at speeds up to 201 km/h — as a result, he lost his car, reports Kronen Zeitung.

A highway patrol noticed an Audi A5 whose driver was constantly tailgating other cars. First, he was recorded on the Westautobahn motorway at 196 km/h with a permitted speed of 130 km/h, and then at 201 km/h with a permitted speed of 100 km/h.

When he was stopped at a rest area, the man explained to the police that he was just rushing home — he lives in Poland.

As a result, the Belarusian's driver's license was temporarily revoked, and the car was temporarily confiscated. He was charged 2430 euros as a deposit.
