MIA refutes that an Indian woman fell into labor slavery in Belarus and presented its own version of her story

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has officially refuted earlier information that a citizen of India fell into labor slavery in Belarus and was unable to return home. The agency claims that these reports do not correspond to reality, having recorded a video with the woman herself.

As reported by the Department for Citizenship and Migration, the 38-year-old foreign national arrived in Belarus last November for the purpose of employment. Based on a contract with an agricultural enterprise, she was issued a temporary residence permit and allegedly provided with housing with all amenities, although the woman herself said she lived in a cowshed.

However, after just eight days, it is claimed, the employment relationship with the employer was terminated, after which the woman's temporary residence permit was annulled. After this, she traveled to Russia, and then returned to Belarus again.

The migrant herself explained in the video that an agent in India took 500,000 rupees (about $5,500) from her for employment in Belarus, but the work turned out to be not what she expected. When she tried to contact him, his phone was allegedly blocked.

Now, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs asserts, the woman is receiving necessary assistance, including with the organization of her return home. The internal affairs bodies are conducting a check to clarify all circumstances of her stay in the country, as well as to identify individuals involved in her employment.

Earlier, the woman's story was described in her own words in the Indian publication Divya Bhaskar. There, Meena Joshi stated that she was sent to Belarus with the promise of work packing fruits and a monthly salary of 70,000 to 80,000 rupees (2200-2500 Belarusian rubles). However, according to her, she received neither the promised work nor the salary. She now wants to return to India but does not have money to buy a return ticket.

Нават страшна уявіць што гэтыя фашысты з ёй могуць зрабіць калі яна адмовіцца сказаць на камеру "версію" мус.
    Шкада чалавека.
