Yury Seliverstov, appointed as Ambassador of Belarus to Russia on January 22, will also represent Belarus in the CIS Economic Council, deal with issues of integration cooperation within the "Union State", the Eurasian Economic Union, the CIS, and the CSTO. Lukashenka signed a separate decree regarding this.

In accordance with the decree, Seliverstov received the powers of Deputy Prime Minister for Belarus's activities within the "Union State" and relations with Russia. He will represent Belarus in contacts with Russian officials and government bodies, as well as in the bodies of the "Union State" on issues of bilateral cooperation. Seliverstov can submit proposals to the Belarusian government, state administration bodies, regional and city executive committees on issues of trade-economic and investment cooperation with Russia.
In addition, he will coordinate the activities of Belarusian bodies and other organizations subordinate to the government, representatives of Belarus in the bodies of the "Union State", give them binding instructions for execution, and control their implementation.
It is noted that Seliverstov bears personal responsibility for promoting the national interests of Belarus within the "Union State" and in relations with Russia.
