Minsk Woman Deprives Her Daughter's Father of Parental Rights, Simply "Not to Disturb Him Unnecessarily"
The man's relatives don't even know about the daughter's existence.
In Minsk, a court considered a civil case regarding the deprivation of parental rights of the father of a 12-year-old girl, Minsk-News reports.
A resident of the capital stated that many years ago she was in a relationship with a foreigner with whom she planned to start a family. After the birth of their daughter, the man officially recognized paternity, but over time the couple separated.
Later, the child's father returned to his homeland, where he started a new family. He rarely visits Belarus, although he still has a house near Minsk. According to the plaintiff, the man's relatives don't even know about the daughter's existence.
The woman herself also got married and maintained a normal relationship with her ex-partner. She did not apply to the court for alimony and did not accept financial assistance from him. Why did she decide to go to court after all? Simply not to disturb the man unnecessarily regarding consent for her daughter's travel abroad or a change of registration.
As reported by Tatyana Litvinchuk, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Sovetsky District, the defendant fully admitted the claim. He explained that he does not plan to participate in his daughter's upbringing, although he is ready to provide financial support if necessary. The man last saw the child in 2018.
The court decided to deprive the man of parental rights.
