RDC Commander Denis Kapustin Proved to Dud that He is Not Jewish

Denis Kapustin was born in 1984 in Moscow, was a fan of Moscow CSKA, a far-right activist, and engaged in combat sports. When he was 17, he moved to Germany with his parents. Since 2017, Kapustin has lived in Ukraine, where in 2022 he founded the Russian Volunteer Corps. In Russia, he was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment.

In a long interview with Kapustin, Yury Dud asked how his family managed to move to Germany.

"Officially, it's a Jewish line," Kapustin replied.

"So, you have a Jewish family?" Dud clarified.

"No. I have a Russian family," Kapustin objected and, as proof, handed Dud his birth certificate, offering him to announce the nationality of his father and mother.

"Father - Russian, Mother - Russian," Yury read and repeated the question: "But how did you leave? You said - under a Jewish program."

"I wouldn't want to go into details," Kapustin replied.

Dud agreed and moved to the next question:

"Is your grandfather's name Efim Aronovich Karpman?"

"Karpmansky," Kapustin clarified.

"And you're not from a Jewish family?" Dud wondered.

"Well, if my maternal grandfather is the only relative of Jewish nationality, I don't think it's correct to say that I'm from a Jewish family. My father is absolutely Russian. My mother has a part, that is, her grandfather is Jewish. Grandmother is Russian and Ukrainian. Well, that is, I do not consider myself Jewish, I do not consider that I am from a Jewish family. (...)

I define myself as Russian, with Russian parents. My mother's father is Jewish. My mother's mother is Russian. Accordingly, my mother is half, that is, I am a quarter, probably [Jewish]. I consider myself Russian, I believe that I was born into a Russian family. (...)

I can counter my political enemies who try to say that, supposedly, I'm from a Jewish family, but I dress up in some Russian nationalist clothing. On this matter, I say once again - I don't reflect on it.

I grew up in Moscow, in a Russian family. My father, I don't know for how many generations, is Russian. My mother - Russians, Ukrainians, and this grandfather of Jewish nationality. I even showed you a unique thing - my birth certificate," the RDC commander argued.

Dud suggested briefly confirming:

"So, your grandfather's name is Efim Aronovich Karpmansky?"

"Yes."

"But you're not from a Jewish family?"

"Of course not."
