American singer Ariana Grande is demanding that Donald Trump's administration stop using her music to promote anti-immigration policies, Reuters reports.

This week, the White House published a video on TikTok dedicated to U.S. immigration policy. The footage shows U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers detaining people and handcuffing them. Grande's song "Bye" played in the background of the clip.

"Please never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane nonsense," the singer wrote in a comment to the video.

Ariana Grande was born in Florida, but she has Italian roots, of which she is proud. Rolling Stone and Billboard rank Grande among the greatest artists in history, and Time magazine included her in its list of the hundred most influential people in the world in 2016 and 2019.

Among her business ventures are the cosmetic brand R.E.M. Beauty (founded in 2021) and a perfume line that has generated over a billion dollars in global sales. The artist has one of the largest audiences on social media: on Instagram, she ranks sixth in the world by number of followers.

On May 22, 2017, a terrorist attack occurred during Ariana's performance in Manchester (UK), killing 23 people and injuring 120. In July 2017, Grande, along with Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Robbie Williams, Liam Gallagher, Coldplay, Take That, and Black Eyed Peas, gave a charity concert in Manchester in memory of the victims of the attack, raising 10 million pounds.
