"Up to 30-50% of assault and infantry positions." Ukraine plans to significantly increase the number of foreigners in the AFU

According to the statement by Ukraine's Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, it is planned that in certain combat units — especially among assault and infantry personnel — the proportion of foreigners could reach approximately 30-50%, writes "Ukrainska Pravda".

"We are opening the recruitment market for foreigners to strengthen combat units and save the lives of Ukrainian servicemen. Our goal is to fill up to 30-50% of assault and infantry positions with foreigners," stated Mykhailo Fedorov.

In addition, Fedorov announced plans for the gradual release from service of those servicemen who have spent the longest time in the army and have been on combat positions longer than others. The idea is to allow for partial rotation of personnel and reduce the overload for the most experienced soldiers.
