61-year-old Sergei Alkhouka enlisted in the war and died near Pokrovsk.
The search for 61-year-old Sergei Alkhouka began in May 2025. The resident of Polotsk went to storm Nova Poltavka — 20 km from Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. He remained there forever somewhere.
The death certificate was issued on August 25, 2025, after which his sons — Yury and Uladzislau — tried to claim their father's inheritance.
The situation was unusual. At the time of his death, Sergei Alkhouka had no real estate, not even a place of residence. Nowhere — in Belarus, he was once evicted by court order, and in Russia, he did not manage to register.
We don't know if he was homeless or simply lived somewhere without registration.
The sons were only fighting for the money from the war that remained in their father's bank accounts — that's where his "earnings" came. However, the lack of registration created a legal hitch. The notary could not determine the place of opening the inheritance and refused to issue a certificate of inheritance rights. The court decided that if there was no real estate, the place of opening the inheritance should be considered the location of the most valuable part of the movable property — a bank account in Yaroslavl. This provided grounds to consider the case under Russian law.
The first-tier heirs were the two sons of the deceased — Yury and Uladzislau Alkhouka. Yury filed the claim, and as a result, the court awarded all the money to him. Uladzislau did not object.
