Employees of the drug control unit of the Zavodskoy District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk detained the 33-year-old director of one of the capital's taxi parks, who is suspected of illegal drug trafficking.
According to law enforcement, about a month ago, the man found an illegal side job online. He agreed to work as a drug courier, hoping to quickly earn additional income.
According to the investigation, the detainee collected large batches of prohibited substances from stashes, after which he packaged and placed them in new hiding places in the Minsk district and the city of Vitebsk.
During the arrest, as well as when checking the stashes, police officers found and seized about 300 grams of the particularly dangerous psychotropic substance mephedrone, as well as 30 grams each of synthetic hashish and MDMA.
According to law enforcement agencies, the man was not only involved in drug distribution, but also consumed them himself.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee on the fact of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. If his guilt is proven, he could face a penalty in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
