Modum company stored a third of its cosmetics in Wildberries warehouses in Elektrostal and Kotovsk
Last weekend, two large Wildberries logistics centers in Russia suffered due to drone attacks. We are talking about warehouses in Elektrostal near Moscow and Kotovsk in the Tambov region. Office Life publication spoke with some Belarusian businesses affected by this situation.

Belarusian sellers also used these logistics facilities. According to experts who assist in marketplace promotion, the warehouse in Elektrostal (considered the most affected) was popular among Belarusian sellers. For example, entrepreneurs from Brest actively used it, and not long ago, transit to this warehouse was established from Minsk, so many directed their goods there.
«It is important to restore the availability of our products to buyers»
Approximately 30% of the entire inventory of Modum cosmetic company, intended for sale through the marketplace, was located in warehouses in Elektrostal and Kotovsk. As of now, this assortment is unavailable for order.
«It is impossible to name the final amount of damage now,» Viktor Labkovich, Deputy Director for Development at Modum, told Office Life. «We are awaiting the completion of the inventory and official information from Wildberries regarding the actual condition of the goods. After that, we will be able to objectively assess the amount of losses and determine the further settlement procedure.»
Modum states that the priority is not only to assess losses but also to restore product availability to buyers as quickly as possible.
«Our team diversified the placement of goods across several Wildberries warehouses in advance, so most of the assortment continues to be sold in the usual mode. We also promptly transferred some positions to the FBS scheme (delivery from the seller's warehouse. — Ed. note), which makes it possible to resume sales without waiting for the affected logistics centers to resume operations.»
In parallel, additional deliveries are being formed to alternative Wildberries warehouses to quickly restore the assortment for the most in-demand positions.
«If any position is temporarily unavailable, we recommend checking the product card a little later — the assortment is gradually returning to sale as stock is redistributed,» explains Viktor Labkovich.
Wildberries has already announced support for partners affected by the situation. As Modum states, the marketplace provided preferential conditions for redistributing goods to other warehouses, including discounts on transit and temporary storage. This will significantly accelerate the restoration of the assortment.
«Lost goods worth 60 thousand rubles. It's hard to say what to do next»
Katsiaryna, an entrepreneur from Brest, has been selling pet products through the marketplace for a couple of years.
«According to the Wildberries report, on July 18, we had 1742 units of goods remaining in the Elektrostal logistics center. The amount of damage amounted to 60 thousand Belarusian rubles,» the entrepreneur said. «In the morning, the marketplace automatically removed all remaining stock from sale. The last order was at 05:42. The buyer will have their money refunded to their card if they paid immediately. If the item was not paid for, they will lose nothing, they simply won't receive their order.»
Katsiaryna is not strongly counting on compensation yet; the main question for her is what to do next.
«The warehouse in Elektrostal was central, very popular, and provided fast delivery of goods,» she explains. «Perhaps we will ship to other warehouses, but we need to assess the situation. For now, we should probably sell from our own warehouse or wait a while. Otherwise, losses for the business could be very substantial.»
