Zelenskyy proposed Serhiy Koretskyi for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine
He heads the company "Naftogaz of Ukraine".

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as part of an initiative to change the government's composition, submitted an official proposal to the Verkhovna Rada for the appointment of Serhiy Koretskyi to the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. This was reported by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, writes UNIAN.
Stefanchuk clarified that the parliament will consider this submission in the near future in accordance with the established procedure.
Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that, based on the results of consultations held, Serhiy Koretskyi is the most suitable candidate for the post of Prime Minister. According to the head of state, the key task of the new government should be to prepare the country for the winter period.
Koretskyi previously did not hold positions in government bodies, although he managed state corporations and an energy company. There, he allegedly "managed to prove himself as a successful anti-crisis manager."
Serhiy Koretskyi was born in Lutsk in 1978. He held his first serious positions in the "Continuum" group of companies. He was an assistant to the co-owner of the company and People's Deputy from the "For a United Ukraine" faction, Ihor Yeremeyev. In 2006, both were on the list of parliamentary candidates from the "Lytvyn People's Bloc," but Koretskyi occupied an un-electable position at the end of the list.
In 2013, he moved to the position of General Director of the WOG filling station network, which belonged to "Continuum."
He returned to big business after the state nationalized the companies "Ukrnafta" and "Ukrtatnafta." He headed both companies and, according to the publication's sources, worked successfully in these positions.
In early 2025, Koretskyi submitted his candidacy for the post of head of "Naftogaz" and won the competition. Under his leadership, the company, which had just passed a difficult heating season of 2024-2025, began accumulating gas for the next winter. Koretskyi was also responsible for finding creditors for this.
Zelenskyy offered him to head the Ministry of Energy amid the scandal surrounding the "Midas" case. However, Koretskyi refused, convincing the president that he should remain in "Naftogaz" ahead of the winter season.
The Ministry of Defense should be headed by Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in his stead, by the current head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhovskyi.
