"Yandex Market" and Ozon, after attacks on Wildberries warehouses, also disclaimed responsibility for loss of goods during attacks

Marketplaces "Yandex Market" and Ozon have changed the terms of their agreements with sellers and clarified that they will not be responsible for the loss of goods in case of emergency situations related to military actions, drone strikes, and other similar events, writes The Moscow Times.

"Yandex Market" published a new version of its agreement on product placement on July 20. The changes appeared a few days after the first strikes on Wildberries' logistics centers. In the new document, the company absolved itself of responsibility for the full or partial non-fulfillment of obligations in case of force majeure circumstances.

The list of such situations now includes the consequences of the use of weapons, military equipment, drones, ammunition and their parts, as well as shelling, explosions, terrorist attacks, and military actions.

Additionally, in the new version of the agreement, "Yandex Market" removed the clause according to which the platform was supposed to immediately notify the other party about the occurrence of force majeure and confirm the fact of such circumstances.

Earlier, similar changes were introduced by Ozon. Since July 1, it has also absolved itself of sellers' claims if losses arose due to military actions, drone strikes, explosions, shelling, or other extraordinary circumstances.

Wildberries had earlier expanded its list of force majeure events, effectively recognizing attacks on its warehouses as a reason not to pay compensation for lost goods.

In mid-July, Wildberries warehouses in several regions of Russia suffered from strikes and fires. The most serious consequences were recorded at logistics facilities in Kotovsk, Tambov region, and Elektrostal, Moscow region. According to reports, the company lost about 10-15% of its warehouse capacity in one day. Damage to warehouses in Podolsk, Krasnodar, and Stavropol Krai was also reported.

The head of Wildberries, Tatyana Kim, stated that the company would support sellers, as well as the families of those killed and injured.
