Over the past day, Belarusians reported about half a thousand cases of phone fraud
Over the past day, about 500 reports of phone calls from scammers were received by the internal affairs bodies of Belarus, reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the law enforcement agencies, thanks to the prompt actions of the police and the vigilance of citizens, most attempts at fraud were prevented. At the same time, 46 crimes committed using information and communication technologies were registered.
During this period, the Department for Organizing the Processing of Fraudulent Operations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the blocking of ten phishing internet resources that imitated genuine online stores, banks, or other services. In addition, the ability to conduct payments to 70 foreign payment details used by scammers was blocked, and debit transactions on 99 bank accounts were suspended.
Police officers also detained two couriers who, according to the investigation, worked for phone scammers. Approximately 70 thousand rubles were confiscated from them during the detention.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the most common scheme remains phone calls where criminals impersonate officials. This is followed by fraud cases during online purchases, thefts using social networks, and deception disguised as investments or trading on financial exchanges.
The agency noted that work to identify and stop the activities of online fraudsters continues. Citizens are reminded that offers of quick and easy money or purchasing goods at suspiciously low prices online often turn out to be fraudulent schemes. When receiving suspicious phone calls, the Ministry of Internal Affairs advises immediately ending the conversation and reporting it to the police at number 102.
