In Polotsk district, a man died while riding a motorboat. The tragedy occurred on the afternoon of July 27 on Lake Serdava.

According to the Investigative Committee, two men, who were in a state of alcoholic intoxication, decided to take a motorboat ride on the lake. On their way back, two more acquaintances, who were also intoxicated, joined them.
While moving at high speed, the boat was heavily rocked, as a result, all four people ended up in the water.
One of the passengers — a 47-year-old resident of Polotsk — could not swim and began to drown. The other three pulled him out of the water, but by that point, the man showed no signs of life.
The Investigative Committee reported that the motorboat was not registered in the prescribed manner. Additionally, there were no mandatory life jackets on board.
