Police concealed information about detention of Aliena Krasouskaja-Kaspiarovich.
Aliena Krasouskaja-Kaspiarovich, who was reported to be missing since July 31, was found in a remand prison in Minsk. Ms. Krasouskaja-Kaspiarovich is currently the deputy chairperson of human rights centre Platforma. Before she was held on July 31, Ms. Krasouskaja-Kaspiarovich had planned to have a meeting scheduled within Platforma’s project Unjust Sentence.
It is still unclear why none of her relatives was informed about Aliena’s being captured and taken to a police station. The police was very reluctant to admit the detention of Ms. Krasouskaja-Kaspiarovich, says Platforma’s Chairperson Andrej Bandarenka.
When Mr. Bandarenka arrived at a police station to clarify information on Ms. Krasuoskaja-Kaspiarovich disappearance on August 1, the police officers did not share any information on her detention until some civil-dressed persons came. Civil-dressed officers also took Mr. Bandarenka to tax inspectorate as allegedly the rent contract for Platforma office was lost.
The lawyer intends to have a meeting with Ms. Krasouskaja-Kaspiarovich today, on August 2.
