On Thursday evening, a heat main with a diameter of 259 mm burst in the area of Timiryazev Street, 9, releasing water.
The emergency situation was promptly localized, and urgent repair and restoration work began. However, as a result of the accident, some residential buildings on Timiryazev, Venisye, and Navukovaya streets, as well as kindergarten No. 8, located at Timiryazev Street, 1, were temporarily disconnected from heating and hot water supply, BelTA reports.
Initially, work was carried out to open the thermal chamber and pump out water. Excavation work was significantly complicated by unfavorable conditions: deep freezing of the soil created additional technical difficulties in dismantling the top layer of soil and accessing engineering communications.
«By 00:30, the damaged section was identified, after which repair crews immediately began work. At 5:25, with the work in its final stage, the heating system began to be filled. During commissioning activities, additional damage requiring elimination was discovered,» Minskenergo noted.
