«Today in Los Angeles, I am studying English, preparing to enter university, writing a book, and engaging in creative work.
I am also grateful to everyone who supported me after my release.
Adapting to life at liberty is not an easy challenge. Every new day reminds me how precious family, freedom, and the opportunity to speak the truth are,» wrote Tsikhanouski, who was previously known to live in Miami.
In this post, he thanked all American officials and diplomats, whose involvement led to Tsikhanouski and other political prisoners being released — John Cole, Christopher Smith, Keith Kellogg, and others.
«Special thanks to my wife Sviatlana. All this time, she fought not only for me but also for Belarus, for the right of Belarusians to live in a free country. I know what she had to go through. Sviatlana, I love you and I am proud of you,» also noted the former political prisoner.
At the end of the post, he addressed the current political situation:
«The dictator's policy has led to Belarus once again balancing on the brink of war these days. I pray that this does not happen.»
