Elderly woman in Donbas buffer zone asked for bread via a message in the snow
Ukrainian servicemen, using a drone, delivered bread to an elderly woman in the city of Kostiantynivka in Donbas. Her request for help, written directly on the snow, was noticed by the operator of a reconnaissance drone of the 3rd Luhansk Border Detachment, writes «Suspilne. Donbas».

As recounted by a 19-year-old serviceman with the call sign Malyuk, during a drone flight, he carefully surveyed the territory it filmed and saw an inscription made by the elderly woman's hand — «I ask for bread». He was particularly struck by the fact that the request was addressed not towards Russia, but specifically to the Ukrainian military. He photographed the inscription, reported it to the command, and received permission to provide assistance.
After this, the serviceman was allocated a drone with a drop mechanism, and he delivered bread and cookies to the woman's home. After some time, a new inscription appeared in the same spot on the snow — «Thank you».
Malyuk emphasized that he will always respond to such signals, as these are their own people who need help, and it is for them that the servicemen are there.
He also noted that the woman should be evacuated, but currently, this is impossible: Kostiantynivka has become a buffer zone, and due to the activity of Russian drones, the evacuation of civilians is extremely dangerous. The serviceman admitted that he felt very sorry for the elderly woman, but there are currently no real possibilities to take her out of there.
