Coordination Council delegate Mamaeva: One of the accusations was that I forwarded screenshots of internal correspondence to other individuals

Aliaksandra Mamaeva commented to "Belsat" on the situation surrounding the vote of no confidence against her. According to her, such a procedure is not provided for by the documents of the "European Choice" faction itself, nor by the Statute of the Coordination Council.

The politician noted that the public statement about the vote of no confidence contained references to alleged existing security risks, but no evidence or facts confirming these claims were provided. According to Mamaeva, a document with accusations against her was announced at an internal faction meeting the day before, but she was not allowed to read it. In addition, the document was anonymous and was not brought up for full discussion.

Speaking about the essence of the claims, Mamaeva reported that one of the accusations was claims that she allegedly transferred internal correspondence of the list to third parties:

"One of the accusations was that I allegedly forwarded screenshots of the internal correspondence of the list to other individuals. This never happened, I did not do this, and no evidence was provided. The discussion was not about transferring information to the KGB, but generally about allegedly forwarding materials to someone outside the list."

What other claims?

Another claim, according to her, was accusations of appropriating the results of someone else's work. Also, some members of the faction expressed dissatisfaction that she had conducted consultations in advance regarding the future work of the international commission.

Mamaeva does not deny that such consultations did indeed take place but emphasizes that this was part of her official duties as the head of the international commission.

"I was accused of holding consultations regarding the future work and formation of the international commission. However, this corresponds to reality, as I continue to work as the head of the international commission. The mandate of the delegation to PACE was extended, so my work also continues," she explained.

According to Mamaeva, after the elections to the Coordination Council, the international commission needs to be reformed. That is why she began preliminary consultations with representatives of various factions to speed up this process.

"At the meeting of the international commission, we discussed the need to form a new composition of the commission as soon as possible and start its work. Therefore, I conducted consultations in advance about who the factions plan to nominate to the commission and what areas should be worked on," she noted.

The politician emphasized that the leadership of the list was aware of this work:

"The leader of our list, Valery Matskevich, is a member of the international commission, knows about this activity, and we have a recorded protocol of the corresponding agreement."

Political struggle within the list?

Mamaeva also rejected accusations that she allegedly conducted negotiations on behalf of the entire faction.

"This does not correspond to reality. I never spoke on behalf of the faction, especially since this issue has not yet been discussed within the list. All the work I conducted was carried out exclusively within the scope of my powers in the international commission," she emphasized.

Commenting on the process of the vote of no confidence itself, Mamaeva stated that she considers it unfair and non-transparent. According to her assessment, the decision was made without her participation, without access to the materials on which the accusations were based, and without the opportunity to provide explanations.

She also sees signs of political struggle within the list in this situation:

"I believe that such public statements can harm my personal, business, and political reputation, and also bear signs of unfair political competition. There are several individuals on the list who have expressed similar accusations to me before. Therefore, I consider what is happening to be a targeted campaign against me by a group of people."

KGB has already offered cooperation

Asked whether the current situation could be related to earlier reports of attempts at recruitment by the KGB, Mamaeva replied that no questions on this matter had been received from faction members.

"I always informed the head of the faction, Valery Matskevich, about all such attempts that occurred. I also informed the Coordination Council's security commission. If it concerned my work in the People's Embassies, the information was also passed on to the relevant structures. In addition, I passed all information about such threats and recruitment attempts to the police and security service of Slovenia, as this falls within their jurisdiction," she said.

Mamaeva also drew attention to what happened after the publication of the statement about the vote of no confidence.

"Literally five minutes after the publication on the 'European Choice' channel, I received messages from two individuals who had previously tried to recruit me, with offers of cooperation. This shows that similar situations are immediately used by the regime and the KGB to split the democratic community," she stated.

Mamaeva stated that she intends to publicly defend her name and use all legal mechanisms to protect her reputation.

In a comment to "Nashaniva", Mamaeva emphasized: the vote of no confidence against her is not related to Alina Kharisava (who sent messages to the "SBU", which was actually the KGB).

"I do not cooperate with the SBU or the KGB, although they have become very active just today after the publication in this direction. I have never made any recordings of "European Choice" chat meetings or the "European Choice" list, and I have never forwarded any screenshots or sensitive information to anyone."

Mamaeva remains in "European Choice" and continues her work in the international commission until the first meeting of the Coordination Council.

"And if we talk about the reasons, I think this is unfair political competition currently happening in the 'European Choice' list, where there are people who are vying for positions in the international commission, in delegations, and in this way, through a vote of no confidence, they are trying to force me to leave the Coordination Council, so that a person from the list who is further down the list can come in my place and also claim positions in the international commission and in delegations."

Brukhan: The faction cannot deprive Mamaeva of her mandate

Coordination Council Speaker Artsiom Brukhan also spoke to "Belsat" about the vote of no confidence against Aliaksandra Mamaeva and clarified the procedural aspect of the issue. According to him, the internal decisions of the faction are its own business and are not regulated by the Statute of the Coordination Council. At the same time, the status of a Coordination Council delegate is regulated precisely by the Statute and the decisions of the election commission.

Brukhan emphasized that Mamaeva received a delegate mandate from the voters but has not yet fully assumed her powers. Therefore, according to him, the faction cannot unilaterally deprive her of the status of a Coordination Council delegate.

"To deprive her of her mandate in the Coordination Council, a two-thirds decision is needed, and the vote of no confidence must be issued not by the faction, but by the Coordination Council as a whole," he noted.

He clarified that before the first meeting, all such decisions remain internal processes of the faction and do not directly affect the delegate's mandate.

Brukhan also noted that the essence of the conflict is not entirely clear from the publicly submitted message and called for more complete information to be awaited after the first meeting of the Coordination Council.

According to him, it is possible that Mamaeva will remain in the faction, become non-factional, or independently decide on her future status.

He added that it is now important to await the first meeting of the Coordination Council, which should take place by June 22.

Brukhan noted that the final procedural steps and the status of all parties will be clear after this meeting.

The "European Choice" faction itself has not yet commented on the situation.
