"Children drank the same drink." Parents from other cities about the poisoning of preschoolers in Barysaŭ

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding the mass poisoning of children under Part 1 of Art. 336 ("Violation of sanitary norms and rules, hygienic standards, which through negligence caused illness or poisoning of people"). In addition, the Investigative Committee reported another 13 victims in various settlements of the Minsk region. The investigation continues.

The Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee stated that employees of units for combating economic crimes, together with investigators, are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. The sale of products that could have been the source of the incident has been suspended in all regions of the country.

Most of the children have already been discharged from the hospital and transferred to outpatient treatment.

Alexander, a man who lives with his family in the Minsk district, contacted Onliner.by journalists. The event that occurred in Barysaŭ, he said, is very similar to what happened in the kindergarten his child attends.

— On Tuesday, my daughter calmly went to kindergarten. At five o'clock she was picked up, and around six or early seven, she started vomiting. This happened 20 times that evening. At 9:30 PM, I arrived home from work, and we drove to the hospital. My wife took a basin with her — my daughter vomited even on the way.

When we arrived at the hospital, they told us in the reception room that we were not the first from the Minsk district. Neighbors wrote in general chats that their son, who attends the older group, started experiencing the same thing. It's simply horrible, we went through a terrible situation.

The girl is now in the hospital with her mother, she needed IV drips. The diagnosis, according to the father, is related to poisoning. The man emphasizes that this is not an isolated case: children from the same kindergarten and even group are in the same ward with his relatives. Alexander is aware of four hospitalized children and three others receiving treatment at home.

According to Alexander, a certain fermented milk drink is named as a possible cause of the children's malaise in the parents' chat. Journalists contacted the head of the kindergarten, but they refused to comment.

Meanwhile, parents are sharing similar stories on social media. In many posts, authors write that their children drank the same drink that Alexander mentioned.

On Thursday, several mothers contacted journalists and shared what happened to their children. Alena's child is 4.5 years old, the family lives in Salihorsk.

— I am the mother of one of the children who, on 02.06.2026, sought help in the emergency room of the Salihorsk children's hospital due to vomiting. It started at 7:00 PM, two hours after I picked up the child from kindergarten.

At 9:00 PM, we arrived at the emergency room, where there was already a queue of preschool children. While waiting in line, everyone was vomiting. We waited for the doctor for exactly 1.5 hours.

No questions for the doctors, there were many children, so we had to wait. In front of us, children were being admitted to the infectious disease ward, and they recommended it to us too, but I refused. The menu for the afternoon snack included [the drink] — the child says they drank it that day (I asked on the day they got sick, and re-asked the next day), the woman said.

Another mother is also from Salihorsk — her child is five years old and attends one of the city's kindergartens.

— [The drink] was given to all children in kindergartens that day. My child vomited on June 2. We went to the emergency room. There were 12 children there, 7 of whom were immediately hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning. We refused hospitalization. The condition improved overnight, yesterday they were still at home, today they went to kindergarten.

In Salihorsk chats, a large number of mothers wrote about their children vomiting. They say they were poisoned by [the drink], a resident of Salihorsk wrote.

Katsiaryna is a mother of many children. The family lives in the Lyuban district.

— The situation is as follows: we picked up three children from kindergarten, returned home around 5:30 PM. Immediately, my son vomited — I thought it might have been due to jumping on the trampoline, then my daughter started vomiting, and then both of them together. From six to eight in the evening, I thought maybe they would feel better, I gave them medicine — but it didn't help. The only thing that came to mind was to go to the emergency room. While we waited, ambulances arrived one after another: one child was handed over to the doctors, and they were already being called with reports of other children with the same symptoms — this influx continued until midnight. Then parents started bringing children themselves — very many were admitted that evening.

They told me it was a virus, but my children were in contact with others that day — then they should have also been infected. However, they don't have such symptoms. Besides, I know what rotavirus is — I've dealt with it many times. At the very least, there should be a fever, but here there was only vomiting — so severe that my son even turned pale the last time.

But the most interesting thing is that by morning there were no symptoms, the children were completely healthy. I wrote in the parents' chat — in two groups, children experienced the same thing. At least three mothers responded to me. Today [Thursday] we have already been discharged.

The head of the kindergarten said that [the drink] was the cause, because nothing else could be. I reported this to the sanitary service, but they replied that this information has not yet been confirmed.

Journalists contacted the manufacturer of the mentioned drink and asked for a comment on the situation. However, a prompt response could not be obtained.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee confirmed: at the moment, only cases in the Minsk region are being discussed. A criminal case has already been opened regarding the incident.

— The criminal case provides more opportunities to establish all the circumstances of the incident, including for conducting investigative actions. It was initiated because investigators indeed found violations that led to these consequences.

On Thursday afternoon, the Minsk Region police reported the suspension nationwide of the sale of products that could have been the primary source of the situation. However, a specific manufacturer or brand was not mentioned in official sources.
