Microloans are gaining popularity in Belarus. They are issued exclusively in Belarusian rubles, according to the National Bank.
While in 2023 only 2685 agreements were concluded for a total amount of 500 thousand rubles, by 2025 their number had grown to 107,800, and the total amount of loans — to 60 million rubles.
Most often, online loans were issued for one month, with an average amount of — 556 rubles. The maximum amount borrowed was 3000 rubles, but there were also cases where only 50 rubles were needed.
It is noted that only resident individuals acted as borrowers and creditors. However, there were significantly fewer creditors — 902 for 2025, while there were almost 15 thousand borrowers.
Online loans can only be obtained from five officially registered organizations. One of them offers a business online loan service.
It should be noted that mobile operators will also be providing loans
From April 23, mobile network operators in Belarus will gain the ability to issue unsecured consumer microloans to citizens in non-cash form.
The maximum loan amount is 200 basic units, which is 9000 rubles today, per recipient on the day the agreement is concluded.
Furthermore, young people aged 14 to 18 require written consent from one of their legal representatives to receive a consumer microloan.
