A man in the Minsk metro groped girls, appearing to be teenagers, and showed them obscene gestures. He was detained.
The girls fled to another seat, and the man was filmed by eyewitnesses.
A video filmed in the Minsk metro on July 14 went viral on social media. It shows a portly middle-aged man making obscene gestures to someone.
“He sat down next to underage girls and suddenly started touching them. They immediately got up and fled to another seat. In case he decided to continue, I started filming,” described the eyewitness who uploaded the video.
“He didn't follow them further. Maybe he saw out of the corner of his eye that he was being filmed. But he continued to make gestures in the direction of the girls. He boarded the train at Kastrychnitskaya station heading towards Malinauka,” he added.
The police soon reported that they had detained the 46-year-old unemployed Minsk resident.
“According to the detainee, he came to Minsk for shopping, consumed alcohol, and then wanted to meet a girl in the metro — in connection with this, he demonstrated indecent gestures to her.
An investigation is currently underway, and the detainee's actions will be given a legal assessment,” stated the capital's police channel.
