Invitations for OSCE/ODIHR Elections Observers to Be Sent Today

Belarus is getting ready for parliamentary elections in September.

Invitations for the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to observe Belarus’ parliamentary elections in September will be sent on July 6, Lidzija Jarmoshyna, head of the central election commission, told reporters in Minsk on Thursday.

“As far as I know, on July 6, the foreign ministry will send appropriate invitations to the OSCE/ODIHR and the CIS,” Ms. Jarmoshyna said on July 5.

She noted that the National Assembly would afterwards send invitations to the Parliamentary Assemblies of the OSCE and the CIS, and the central election commission would send out invitations to other countries’ election authorities.
