A few days ago, a video appeared on social media showing a wolf moving near the Alshanka residential microdistrict in Grodno. Following this, hunters promptly went to the location. They ascertained that the predator was in a specific forest area and had not left it yet, BelTA writes .

Since January 20, they have been trying to track the animal, but it manages to evade pursuit. As hunters note, a wolf is a very cautious and mobile animal that does not stay long in one place. The predator's appearance closer to populated areas (it was seen more than two kilometers from the city limits) may be explained by the rutting period, as well as frosts and lack of food.
There are reasons to believe that this same wolf strangled a dog in a courtyard in the village of Strubka, Grodno district, a few days ago.
At the same time, experts note that the number of wolves in the area is small, although similar incidents occasionally occur. For example, last summer, a she-wolf that attacked dogs in private households was killed near the agricultural town of Sapotskin. In this regard, animal owners are advised not to leave sheep and goats unattended, and not to let dogs out of the yard.
