Lawyer Aliaksei Kierol sentenced on a political criminal case

In 2021, his license was revoked for being detained at protests.

In the Minsk City Court, 53-year-old former lawyer Aliaksei Kierol was sentenced. He was accused of «facilitating extremist activities» (Part 1, Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code). The lawyer was sentenced to house arrest.

At the end of 2021, Kierol's lawyer's license was revoked because he was detained at protests in 2020.

In 2020, he defended Belarusians who were detained at demonstrations.
