Belarusian Easter Vigil in Vilnius will take place in a church founded by Konstantin Ostrogski
This is a temple that Hetman Ostrogski built as a sign of gratitude for the victory over the Muscovite army near Orsha in 1514.

The all-night vigil is a night service with a procession. On Easter, it takes place on the night from Saturday to Sunday. This is the most solemn service.
The Belarusian Orthodox parish in Vilnius is the first that was taken under the omophorion of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. This was an important sign that Belarusian Orthodoxy, like Ukrainian, does not necessarily have to be subordinate to Moscow. The parish is served by respected priests Georgy Roy and Alexander Kukhta, who were forced to leave their homeland after 2020.

This place was once an oak grove. According to legend, three Vilnius martyrs — Antony, John, and Eustathius — were killed there in the 14th century. The construction of a church on this site is associated with the second wife of Grand Duke Algirdas — Uliana.
On the site of that small church, with the permission of Grand Duke Sigismund the Old, Hetman Konstantin Ostrogski built a large brick temple in honor of the victory in the Battle of Orsha. It was built in the style of Belarusian Orthodox Gothic: with buttresses, a high roof, and a triangular pediment.

At the same time, with funds from Konstantin Ostrogski, a monastery building was also erected, which would eventually become Basilian. A high octagonal bell tower was built next to the temple. The spirit of different eras left its imprint on this sanctuary. Later, the church facades were rebuilt in the Russian-Byzantine style, and the church interiors are now Baroque.
Currently, the church belongs to the Basilian monks of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and on Easter, it will host Belarusians.
