The Investigative Committee investigated a brutal murder in Cherikov that happened several months ago
The murder occurred on the night of December 25. A woman died the day before her 47th birthday.
According to the investigation, a 40-year-old man, while heavily intoxicated, inflicted numerous blows on the homeowner with a kitchen knife and other items found in the kitchen.
"Investigators established that after the murder, the accused also defiled the corpse. He posthumously inflicted numerous stab wounds on the deceased, after which he damaged part of the soft tissues and organs," the Investigative Committee added.
During interrogation, the man explained that on the evening of December 24, he visited his cousin's ex-wife to discuss her personal problems.
"After consuming alcohol together, he began to harass the woman but was rejected, which provoked aggression. After committing the crime, he tried to hide the traces: he burned his clothes and shoes," the Investigative Committee reported.
Charges have been filed under clause 6, part 2 of Article 139 (murder committed with particular cruelty) and part 1 of Article 347 (desecration of a corpse) of the Criminal Code. Previously, the accused had been prosecuted for theft.
