Drunk driver of a rented car went on a chase through Minsk streets
In Minsk, traffic police officers detained a 47-year-old man who was driving a car-sharing vehicle while intoxicated, failed to stop at the request of inspectors, and resisted arrest.

A report about a possibly intoxicated driver was received on the "102" line. An eyewitness reported that a Volkswagen car was moving along Leanid Biada Street, likely driven by a drunk person.
Traffic police officers spotted the car on Surhanava Street and signaled it to stop, but the driver ignored the demand and tried to flee. During the pursuit, he repeatedly violated traffic rules, and at the intersection of Yakub Kolas and Surhanava streets, he crashed into a road barrier.
During the arrest, the man resisted law enforcement officers but was detained. A medical examination showed that he had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
For failing to comply with the demand to stop, which led to a pursuit, and disobeying law enforcement officers, the man has been arrested for 30 days. Additionally, for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, he faces a fine of 200 basic units and a five-year disqualification from driving.
