In Belarus, during the unloading of cars from the USA, employees of the Grodno customs found an unusual "traveler" - a raccoon. The animal was calmly dozing on the dashboard of one of the cars, writes the press service of the State Customs Committee.
It is assumed that the raccoon snuck into the container back in the USA and, despite several days of transit across the Atlantic Ocean, reached the Belarusian border.
Soon after the discovery, specialists provided the animal with appropriate care, and then it was sent to quarantine at the Ashmyany District Veterinary Station. There, the raccoon's health will be carefully monitored.
After the quarantine period, the animal's further fate will be determined: it may be transferred to the Naliboki Forest or the Grodno Zoo — the decision depends on the raccoon's health condition.
