Son of former Minister of Culture became a contract soldier

"He signed a contract and serves in special units. A serviceman, on the line of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," Anatol Markevich said about one of his sons.

Anatol Markevich was Minister of Culture from November 2020 to December 2024. He is currently the head of the permanent committee representation of the Union State in Minsk (he has been working there at least since April 2025).

In a culinary show on STB, Markevich talked about what his sons do (the official has three of them).

The eldest son, 28-year-old Illia, graduated from BNTU, Faculty of Information Technologies, and works in his specialty.

The youngest is 15, he is still a schoolboy.

And the middle one, 23-year-old Yauhen, studied at BSPU named after Maxim Tank to be a physical education teacher and joined the military.

"He signed a contract and serves in special units. A serviceman, on the line of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," Markevich senior said.

His sons chose their professions themselves, he added.

Yauhen and Illia Markevich also play mini-football and regularly participate in competitions.
