The total population of Georgia is 3,929,581 people. The share of foreign citizens is 3.4% (133,857 people). The largest national group is citizens of Russia (37,715 people), followed by citizens of India (23,925), and citizens of Ukraine (11,542) in third place.
Citizens of Azerbaijan number 8,309 people, Armenia — 5,381, citizens of Turkey — 5,262.
Citizens of Belarus numbered 4,473 people. This is the seventh place among foreigners. They are followed by citizens of Iran — 4,322, Israel — 3,244, Jordan — 3,037.
The publication noted that, according to preliminary results, there were more foreigners — 257,000 people.
In August 2025, according to human rights defenders, about 12,000 Belarusians lived in Georgia, having left their country due to the threat of repression. Their numbers gradually began to decrease after the introduction of stricter migration rules.
