US Vice President Vance announced four main outcomes of the US-Iran talks: «Listen, yesterday was a very, very good day. We made great progress. We did exactly what we wanted — achieved four goals for the American people.

He named four key outcomes of the US-Iran talks.

First, we wanted to create a mechanism to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. It is open. We see that gas and oil prices have fallen. We also wanted to ensure that we created a mechanism for de-escalating conflicts in the strait, so that if they arise, we can resolve them rather than allowing escalation.

Second, we wanted to create a similar mechanism for resolving regional ceasefires. As the president himself said, sometimes a truce only means fewer shellings, but we wanted to ensure coordination so that in the event of shellings, responsible actions by Israel, or other conflicts, we could communicate with each other and stop hostilities.

Third, and this is probably what makes us most happy as Americans, the Iranians agreed to once again invite IAEA inspectors into their country. This is an important step for Americans and the first step towards the ultimate abandonment of the nuclear program in Iran. This is exactly what we wanted and asked for.

We made great progress on other nuclear issues as well, which brings me to the last point: we created a process for further technical talks. Our teams did a lot of work yesterday with the Iranians, Qataris, and Pakistanis, and they will continue working at a technical level here in Bürgenstock [Switzerland], and these technical talks will then continue in the coming days and weeks.»
