A Minsk legend was beaten in the metro — a woman who has been singing about Jesus for many years
No one intervened to stand up for the singer.

Valentina is probably known by everyone who has lived in the Belarusian capital for at least a month. The woman sings about Jesus near the metro — and never asks for money, unlike ordinary street performers. She is always positive. The singer is called a legend of the capital.
But recently, Valentina found herself in a terrible situation.
Olga Mamantova shared what happened on Instagram. She met Valentina in the metro at 'Kastrychnitskaya' station. As always, she was singing about Jesus — but the woman's face was covered in blood.
Olga approached the singer to help her clean up. Valentina recounted that she was riding in a train car and singing when, at 'Ploshcha Lenina' station, one of the young men stood up and punched her in the face — hitting her nose. He then calmly sat back down.
What struck Olga most in this story was that none of the other people came to the aid of the elderly woman — neither in the metro car nor later at the station, where she stood with a bloodied face.
The concerned Belarusian woman suggested to the singer that she file a police report — and even offered to go together. Valentina initially agreed, but only after work — as she was just heading to her shift that morning. She also went to the doctors only after finishing work.
And in the evening, when Olga called the singer again, Valentina said she would not contact the authorities: «I decided not to file a report, I forgave, and I feel so much better. There is a judge above us all, and it is not me. I will pray…».
The video about the incident gained 200,000 views and hundreds of comments in less than a day. Many are outraged by the indifference of Belarusians, who not only did not react to the assault itself but also ignored the bloodied woman singing in the middle of the platform of one of the busiest stations of the Minsk metro.
